Loopmasters
are very proud to announce our latest artist sample pack, a collection of
twisted funk, electro, breaks and minimal eccentricity from one of the leading
lights of the current dance scene, ladies and gentlemen, let us proudly
introduce ‘Twisted Electro’ by The Rogue Element!
The
Rogue Element is award-winning producer and DJ Ben Medcalf, whose work receives
plaudits and support from such varied luminaries as James Zabiela, Etienne de
Crecy, Meat Katie, Elite Force, James Lavelle, the Plump DJs, and the Crystal
Method. In addition, Ben is one half of Disco of Doom with Tom Real, a project
dedicated to all kinds of disgusting house, techno, and general electronic
depravity.
Twisted
Electro is a filthy collection of blips, tweaks, fades, builds, and other
chemical electro material which has been processed and filtered beyond
recognition, then sprinkled with a twist of funk and regurgitated into a
surprisingly palatable plate of tempting sonic ingredients which discerning
electro, tech funk, breaks, and even minimal house and techno producers will
find most inspirational!

2009 IS the year for drum and bass.
Clubnight Hospitality have been packing out venues up and down the country; The
UK’s radios have been lit up by the incendiary sounds of Pendulum, Danny Byrd
and Chase and Status and festivals had their soundsytems rocked by drum + bass
DJs and live acts. In light of this, Hospitality have called upon two of the
scene’s heavyweights High Contrast and London Elektricity to put together a
definitive guide for the nation, This Is Drum + Bass.
After
his 2002 debut album True Colours
received huge props from critics and fans alike, High Contrast became the name on everyone’s lips. Within no time,
he has become one of the most revered and respected producer-DJs around.
Releasing three massive albums and becoming remixer de-jour for the likes of Missy
Elliot, The Streets, Adele
and many more.
Divided By Night is the latest artist album from electronic music pioneers The Crystal Method, dropping what may be their masterpiece. Bolstered by the innovation, flexibility and craftsmanship that have made the duo of Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland club culture icons, the pair’s fourth studio effort out on Tiny e Records is easily its most inventive and accomplished to date.
THE CRYSTAL METHOD ‘DIVIDED BY THE NIGHT’ ALBUM LAUNCH PARTY @ SPECTRUM, MATTER. 21ST AUGUST 2009
Spectrum will once again return to matter on 21st August with a line-up headlined by renowned duo The Crystal Method, launching their new album Divided By The Night with their only London club date of the year. Notorious for over a decade for enduring dancefloor anthems such as Now Is The Time and Keep Hope Alive, a willingness to collaborate with an array of talent meant that the duo also managed to succeed in the remix, film soundtrack, television, gaming and advertising worlds. Their platinum-status debut album Vegas (released in 1997) is one of the biggest selling electronic albums of all time, landing them in the top five best-selling electronic acts in America. With a reputation for adapting to new trends to stay ahead of the curve, TCM manage to draw beyond the typical electronic audience. Whether it’s bringing in live drums or lining up collaborations with talents from the vast spectrum of pop sub-genres, The Crystal Method has managed to put a distinctly American face on the European-dominated electronic movement.
Joining them will be the legendary Scratch Perverts. With the launch of their latest mix album Beatdown designed to showcase what you'd hear in a recent club set by the trio, they'll be stepping out of their comfort zone of hip-hop sounds, with Beatdown featuring recent cuts from the dubstep (Joker, Skream, Digital Mystikz), electro-house (Jack Beats, Laidback Luke) and drum & bass (Sigma, Lomax, Logistics) scenes.
Following on from NAPT’s quadruple award wins so far this year the NAPT N-Funk tru steppers return with the highly anticipated third part of their award winningN-Funk series.
First up is NAPT ft Louise Marshall “Make My Day”. Featuring the voice of former Incognito vocalist Louise Marshall
“Make My Day” opens up with an epic time-travel moment back into the
halcyon era of dance yester-year brushed with a modern touch. NAPT then
build the hype with a hysteria of effects and drum fill round houses
like only they know how into a drop that guarantees satisfaction. The ensuing mix of analogue grooves and larger then life brand new seismic drum breaks has been proving too much for audiences around the world who have been clammering for this one after hearing it dropped by NAPT and a select few DJ’s.

In the midst of the explosion of the acid house and rave scenes in the
late 80s there were no strict genres - back then pigeon-holing was a
nonexistent entity - and amongst the raft of visionaries introducing
breakbeats into a rave scene still dominated by 4/4 kick drums was a
young Danny Williamson, aka LTJ Bukem. With beginnings as a DJ on
London's soundsystem scene, followed by the acid house days alongside
the likes of Kid Batchelor and Mr C, it was a fascination with the
sampler that sprung his career into pace. Buy this excellent release here...
