All-time Favorite Breakbeat Choon: Must be some freskanova classic! Favourite Type of Girls: I am happy in my relationship ;)

Sup Adam Faz, hows everything with you and how are the new tracks coming along for this year? Adam Faz:I’m good thanks. Got couple releases for Born IdIe label also remix for legendary Jason Sparks coming out on new Contrabass records/ Botchit & Scarper imprint in August this year. Also there is a colaboration with Streetwise boys & you might hear something a long this way in near future.
My favourite track of yours is Saturated Groove out on Born Idle Recordings, how did you get that track on J-Basses label and how did this track come about? Adam Faz: Like all good music it came out accidentally haha. Seriously I wanted to do a dancefloor track with a dub influence and a funk drive on top of it which wasn’t exactly my regular go for at the time I wrote it . It came out that it worked on the dacefloor pretty well & generally people liked it . James played it out on his show on ibreaks radio & after that he offered me a label signing . As simple as that.
Speaking of J-Bass, how did you meet up with him? What do you think of him? Does he bug you in anyway? Joke...he is dope! Adam Faz: Except Produciton I also run Polish Breakbeat Promo group called Nu : Breaks Experience with events/ festivals all around Poland . I first meet James during this activity. James is a very cool bloke & talented artist. The colaboration goes sweet, I’m happy that we ran on each other..
How did you come up with your dj name? Adam Faz: Well my Dj name was Faz but my reel name is Adam. Close friends called me Adam Faz & accidentally someone billed me on event under it & it stayed this way...I don't put much weight to a name really... If you have a killer sound your name can be Telletubie!!. Like my firends Magnet Men tend to say : “...pseudonymes are silly unless you’re a spy or someone cool like that...“
Can you describe your sound to people who never heard of your tracks before? Adam Faz: Bass driven music that makes you shake your ass.
What is your favorite song you made so far? Adam Faz: Its always the next track i reckon. Core Tekz is one of my favs as well as Mass Madness ( fatured in the mix ), love to play it out.To be honest after so much time spend on tweaking sound & listening to them again & again I tend to hate them in the end!
Did you ever goto any sound or music school? Adam Faz: No . I’m a sefl-learnig person by trial & error, though I’m concidering taking a musical education for other than witting tunes proffesional music activities after I get my master degree on international political relations next year. I’m DJin in Clubs for about 10 years or so, got into production about 3 - 4 years ago.
Where do you live in Poland? Has your area been helpful to you as an artist in anyway? Adam Faz: I live in the north side of Poland, by the sea. Its a wicked place cause you have ‘ california ‘ type weather in summer and snow in winter. To be honest its not easy nor perfect beeing artist in a country with one small breakbeat digital label & major labels releasing musically retarded stuff but in internet era it all equals with other european countries & it could have been worse ya now . Now artist form countries like mine can spread their sound all around the world & its wicked. I must say that there are loads of unsigned artist in here with so much to offer. I’m concidering opening a poland based label in near future.
Do you know how to make good Polish sandwiches? What's the secret sauce in Polish sandwiches and what is the best type of Polish ham? Adam Faz: I’m da don of afterparty tortilla . Though to be honest I’m no competition to my girfriend . She would be better source for this type of question as being a real culinar genious. We actually have a plan to open a small restaurant in the future. The thing about the polish ham & sausages: experts know that the best meat you can get is for the country farm straight from the farmers. you can still get that old recepie stuff witch is great! After joining the European Union all hams on a market taste the same due to regulations & its lame .Its like analog & digital type of thing ;)
How do you go about writing your tunes so far? Do you just sit there infront of your home studio and try to output a song...is there another way for you? Adam Faz: I’m trying different stuff & experiment alot these days . Want to come up with something groundbreaking every now & then, which is preety obvious. It all comes down to determination and hard work in the studio for me really . Its very important to keep things in right order durring work and that requires self esteem. Over few months I got myself preety good workflow & can say I preety happy with the results. If I am onot able to write which sometimes happens, I concentrate on technical side of things which in the end improoves my mixdowns or I’m looking for the hooks for new projects which gives me an idea for a tuna. I try to stick to this manners while I am in the studio.
PC or Mac? Adam Faz: PC for studio, Macbook for gigs & quick ideas on the plane.
What music software do you use? Adam Faz: I’m running Cubase SX 3 in my studio as a host sequencer.
Whats up with the Polish scene? How is it? What is hot there? Are people enjoying the Breaks? Adam Faz: Its hard to say that there is a Scene in full meaning . There are artists & producers, promoters but theres something missing. Nu breaks Experience project was found to change this. We brought artist such as Aquasky, Freestylers, Dj Deekline ect. to the polish people .We wanted to take the beakbeat music out of basements & small clubs to the main festival scenes & front pages of music magazines in Poland. I’m preety happy what we’ve archived till now & yet there is a long way for us.
Can you describe the dj mix you have made for this interview? Adam Faz: Its a short set of my freshest unreleased tracks mixed with recent fav tracks by other porducers. Adam Faz (Poland) Exclusive mix download 82 Mbs...right-click to save to your hard drive

List some of your favorite breakbeat producers or any other music producers (past/present): Adam Faz: Timbaland for production skillz. As for breakbeat : Rogue Element, Body Snatchers, Jinx in Dub, Si Begg...
What are you using to dj nowadays? Vinyl or mp3, or cdjs? Whats your take on djing gear? Adam Faz:I use everything possible right now . CDjs are preety handy at the mo . Though you must now that I am a vinyl lover with massive collection in my house & try to use it as often as I can. I can see why CDs / Mp3 taking over . Once on a tour I had a situation on the airport when lady at the customs was checking EVERY vinyl record sleeve in my bag looking for illegal substances. Overall it was a funny experience but I’ve spent ages there & almoust was late for my set!
If you were stranded on an island and had a portable record player with enough batteries to play one last track,,,which track would you choose to listen to? Adam Faz: I would listen to a 5 minutes minimix of my all time favourite tracks, ha!
Words of wisdom to other girl djs, producers, dancers or promoters: Adam Faz: Keep it real yo! Originate, don’t imitate...
